WATER FILTRATION
Clean water is crucial for smooth operation and longevity of your misting system. Water is filtered before feeding to the pump. There are two types of filters, either stainless steel mesh filter or PP filter. Later type can filter finer insoluble particles better. Remember! These filters cannot reduce the TDS level of water. Therefore, in case of higher TDS i.e. above 300 ppm a reverse osmosis plant is recommended.
PP Filters are available in various sizes i.e. 5, 10 and 20 inches, there may be fat and slim casings with minor differences. Other casing differences are in thread type, some have plastic thread others with brass thread are more durable and expensive, some lack air release valve while better quality comes with air release valve.
Top quality PP filter and casing may be around 4 USD for 5 inches, 6 USD for 10 inches and 12 USD for 20 inches.
MISTING PUMP
High-pressure-plunger-pump is the backbone of a high pressure misting system, it provides the pressure required to push water through pipes and nozzles. These are oil lubricated robust pumps capable of producing 60-150 bar pressure. Quality is directly proportional to the capability of producing higher pressure. It contains internal or external release valve to regulate the pressure. These are made up of high-end brass body, internal parts may contain stainless steel. Top quality high-pressure-pumps contain ceramic plungers to ensure better durability. Pumps with 1400 RPM (revolution per minute) are twice as more durable than 2800 RPM pumps. Electric motor is matched according to the pump capacity and coupling needs. A 0.75Kw motor is suitable for 4LPM pump while 3Kw motor is necessary for 14LPM pump.
Misting pump is usually the most expensive part of the system. The price of a 4LPM pump may be around 700 USD while for 14LPM it may be around 1400 USD.
MISTING ACCESSORIES
Tee, elbow, nozzle seat, end plugs, valves etc. help to deliver pressurized water to the network of pipes, leading to the mist nozzles. Misting accessories usually come in 9mm and 6mm sizes. Stainless steel and brass are the materials, used for manufacturing and these are of two types: screw type and push lock. Screw type accessories are cheaper but consume a lot of time for assembling, while push lock type are easy to install. To avoid frequent leakage, always select top quality misting accessories, otherwise misting can become a nightmare.
The price for screw-type-misting-accessories is half that of push-lock-misting-accessories. Similarly for the materials, stainless steel accessories are twice the cost of nickel-plated brass accessories.

MISTING TUBES
High-pressure stainless steel, nylon and PE material tubes are used for misting. The selection of tube material depends upon the requirements and on ground situation. Misting tube are usually available in 9mm and 6mm diameter. Stainless-steel-misting-tube can bare pressure up to 3500 psi and come in prefixed lengths i.e. 6, 12,18,24 and 30 inches. While nylon and PE tubes can bare up to 2000 and 1500 psi pressure respectively. These are available in the form of 15m, 30m and 100m rolls. SS tubes are the most durable, however rusting can cause problems depending upon the quality of SS used. Amongst nylon tubes there are two qualities i.e. PA6 and PA12 tubes, the later ones are twice as durable. While the PA6 nylon tubes are durable than PE tubes.

MISTING NOZZLES
Tiny but very important components that convert pressurized water into fine fog. These are designed to break water into microscopic droplets, which can evaporate quickly. Available in various orifice sizes (0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 mm), orifice materials (SS, ceramic and ruby) spray angles (60, 80, 100 degrees). You can opt for nozzles with filters (PP or SS material) to minimize the chances of nozzle clogging or select nozzles without filter to reduce cost. Usually, nozzle body is made up of brass material, these are plated with nickel or chromium to look similar to stainless steel nozzles which are twice more expensive.

In order to mount tubes to the wall or metal structure, tube hangers have to applied. These are made up of stainless-steel material with rubber coating and are available in 9mm and 6 mm sizes. Nozzle hangers are applied to stop nozzle displacement.
